How to Remove Me in dual boot system with XP

My system is configured with dual boot XP Pro and Me. I
do not need the Me system any longer and would like some
guideance to remove ME.

I found one article " How to Remove Windows 98 When It Is
Part of a Dual Boot with Windows 2000" published under
Q285480. But not sure if it would be the same with a
XP/Me.

Any help would be appreicated.

It is the same procedure as in the Knowledge Base article you cited.

My system is configured with dual boot XP Pro and Me. I

guideance to remove ME.

THe important point is that the initial boot is to the C: drive where
the ME is, and you must retain the needed boot files; also it is not
practicable to change the drive letter of XP from D (or whatever)
because that letter is now pervasive in the registry.

So the easiest thing is just to delete the windows and Program Files
folders from C: that contain the ME, making sure that the hidden files
C:\ntldr
C:\boot.ini
C:\ntdetect.com
are retained.

Then in XP Run MSCnfig.exe and on the Boot.ini page click 'Check all
paths'. That will identify the entries that were for ME as no longer
valid and allow you to delete them safely. Then use the space released
on C: for data, or a drive to point new programs to when you install
them
