Hi:
Thanks for all the responses/helps to my previous thread, "PC not
turning on.'

Now, I have another issue related to this, ...
How to remove a CD that stuck inside CD - writer/dvd?

Since the PC is no longer useful, ... 'dead,' then I may pry open to
remove the CD. However, is there any way to remove the CD
stuck inside CD - writer/DVD?

Thanks for your help in advance.

There should be a small hole at the front of the drive, insert a
straightened paper clip in there and push.

You'll find a tiny hole on the front fn the drive. Straighten up a
paperclip. power up the drive and poke the paperclip into the hole.
If you can't power it up, you'll probably jut have to try to pry it open as
you say.
Good Luck,
Alan.

Paperclip will work on a drive powered or not. Many a time I've swapped a CD
drive from a computer, settled down in front of the computer & remembered
there was a CD in the old drive in the closet or recycle box. Pushing the
clip in the disconnected drive pops the tray out just enough to simply pull
it the rest of the way.

Power is not required for the paper clip to work, it directly operates the
eject mechanism and should eject the tray about a half inch or so. You can
pull it the rest of the way.

Yes. The OP should also note that prying it open, as Alan suggests
above, will destroy the drive. Even if the computer is dead, if the
drive is still good, it can be moved to another computer, sold, or
kept as a spare.
