how to reinstall MSXML 4.0?

I believe you can find the released version of MSXML 4.0
at Microsoft XML Web Services
http://msdn.microsoft.com/xml

You might also check up there to see if there is a
security update of any kind for that program.

Have you tried to run "sfc /scannow" at the command prompt and insert the
windows cd.
