When trying to install MSXML 4.0 SP2 (downloaded from
Microsoft's site), I get the following error most of the
way through installation:
"An error occured during the installation of assembly
component {303994BA-6487-47AE-AF1D-7AF6088EEDBD}. HRESULT:
-2147024894."
I'm attempting to install MSXML 4.0 SP2 because Rise of
Nations is giving me this error when I attempt to run it:
"BHG RTS run time FATAL
MSXML 4.0 is not properly installed."
I've seen in several newsgroup posts that the suggested
solution is to install MSXML 4.0 SP2.
I also attempted to install MSXML4 from the Rise of Nations
CD (in the REDIST folder), but I get the exact same MSXML
error as above. I seem to recall that I used to have Rise
of Nations on this computer previously, and ran it without
a hitch. I have no idea why this problem would be occuring
now.
Any suggestions or advice? I can't find a solution on the
web or in the newsgroups, and I fear the only solution
might be to wipe-and-reinstall WinXP. I'm running Windows
XP SP1 with all updates from Windows Update. Thanks!
