How to Reinstall IE 6.0 in XP Home SR2?

I recently worked on a blind person's PC that was riddled with spyware.
After getting those problems cleaned up I tried to install the McAfee
security software that comes bundled with Comcast High Speed Internet. This
installation failed when a McAfee installation program that is supposed to
prompt for a serial number failed to access the internet.

McAfee support had me change a number of IE settings but none of those
settings resolved the problem. Finally the McAfee support engineer told me
to contact Microsoft to reinstall IE thinking something there is corrupted.

How can I go about getting a fresh install of IE 6.0 (in XP Home Edition
with SR2)? Or can anyone think of any other setting or registry hack that
might resolve this problem short of reinstalling IE?

Thanks in advance,

If the person has eyesight issues, upgrade to IE7. One nice advantage it has
is the zoom (i.e. magnification) features. Works nice for those who need it.
