How to prevent Encarta Dictionary load on system startup?

No luck finding an answer to this at MSKB, other groups and
forums. Software is "Microsoft Student with Encarta Premium
2008 DVD".

I've deleted \run\ keys in the registry and unchecked
'edict.exe' in the System Configuration Utility. All get
restored during startup.

Aside from renaming the executable, can anyone offer a
suggestion on how to prevent this time-consuming and
unwanted loading of edict.exe?

I'd use AutoRuns from www.sysinternals.com

Be aware that there may be more than one place that this could be
auto-running from. Also the application may reset these options everytime
you run it.

Apparently the application resets these options. And
edict.exe won't execute when renamed.

Thank you for enhancing this xp neophyte's education with a
pointer to www.sysinternals.com.

David,

You're very welcome. sysinternals utilities are some of the best I've found.
