How to permanently delete old text that continues to reappear?

Each time I open a new document, the same old text reappears from something I
typed a year ago.

No matter what I do, I can't get rid of it.

I recently updated from Office 2000 to Office 2003. The problem continues.

I will most appreciate any assistance.

Hi Carol,

Unfortunately, the link you posted, wasn't addressing the same issue. In
the mean time, I have found the answer to my original question, and that is
in the form of a special tool available free from Microsoft called the
"Remove hidden data, Add-in"

Carol, I appreciate your help very much. I was very hopeful that the link
you provided would assist me. It's a little outdated as I have Office 2003,
but I was following along and came to a roadblock because I am told that I
can't access Normal.dot because it is password protected or this or that.
I'm going to try one more time.
