Under the Tools menu in IE6 are "Add to xxxx Zone" where xxxx is Trusted
to Restricted. However, before you can use that submenu, you already
must have navigated to that site and opened that web page. If you are
leery about a web site, it is already too late to be adding that site to
the Restricted Zone using this submenu.
I could first open Tools -> Internet Options -> Security and add the URL
for the web site to the Restricted Zone and then navigate to that site
but this is a lot of work when all you want to do is have a "first-time"
glance at an unknown web site under the Restricted Zone to see if you
feel comfortable enough with it to open under the less secure Internet
Zone.
Anyone know of a BHO (browser helper object) for IE that will let me do
a restricted first glance at a web site? I can go to
http://www.samspade.org/ and use that safe web browser but then I have
to wade through a lot of HTTP traffic and HTML code trying to figure out
what the web site is about. When trying to determine the origin of
spam, advertising in a web site, or some tracking utilized by a web
site, I'd like to go hunting with some armor when visiting those unknown
sites.
