That's because XP sucks. It really really sucks. I mean, I've always rued
the day I switched from my old Mac to Winblows, but XP has got to be the
worst ever. Jeez. Right now I have two OS's in my machine. Guess which one
runs faster? That's right, it ain't XP. The only way to keep XP running as
fast as it was the day you bought it is...not to use it. Don't install any
new apps. Don't install any extra hardware. Don't open any documents, no
photos, no videos, nothing. Then it'll work just like the day you bought it.

Did I mention that XP sucks? No? Well, it does.

some programs can be cancelled on the start up it can
make your computer faster since sometimes we don't need
all those programs. click on START and Run.. then
type "msconfig" click ok a window will appear now click
on the tab Startup now click unclick by click on the
things you would like not to run on the startup you can
have and idea of what they are by looking at the name of
the folder they are just by looking at their names be
sure not uncheck on a AntiVirus Start up like Norton or
McAfee expand the command list to see in what folder they
are installed. see if you have a good improovement
