how to make user-defined field visible to others

I am the only user with 'owner' rights to create tasks etc for a group
mailbox (including tasks, calendar etc). My colleagues all have 'custom'
right only so that they could create and change their own things but not
delete the ones created by others.
I created 'user defined field' for some information to be shared. It
displayed ok on my PC but it does not exist as an available from their Field
chooser on my colleagues' PC. They can't create it on their PC to match the
field name neither since the New button is greyed out.

Any solution to display 'user defined field' on another person's PC without
risking edit right?

Thanks.

Try creating a new view in the folder that shows the fields you want them to use. Set the view's scope to "on this folder, visible to everyone."
