OL 2003 - I have created new contact form by adding one new user defined
field which i want to use in a mail merge document however the new field does
not show up when I try the mail merge and it also doesn't show when I try
different views in outlook such as address, detaield address, company and I
can't find my new field under "user defined field" when I try to customize
the view. Any ideas?

Sounds like you might need to use the folder's Field Chooser to create a field defnition in the folder to match the one in the form. Use the same name and data type.

Thanks Sue
Applying the field chooser has worked for the outlook contact views
perfectly. I cannot see how to get the field available for a mail merge
though. Any more ideas?

Start the merge from your contacts folder with the Tools | Mail Merge command and follow the prompts, choosing to use all fields in folder.
