User-defined field - delete, and purge values

When I create a User-Defined Field, and I want to delete the field, it warns
me that I will be retaining all data stored in that field for the tasks in
which data was entered. This isn't a bit deal, as it's a miniscule bit of
data, but for cleanliness' sake, is there no way to delete a field & take
with it all data?

Thanks;

Field definitions exist at both the folder and item level. When you delete a
field definition at the folder level, it leaves the items unchanged (and yes,
there are scenarios where that's desirable). If you want to delete the data
at the item level, you'll need to do that for each item, either manually or
with a script or VBA code.

Or just don't worry about it. There's nothing wrong with having a smidgen of
extra data in a task.

True!

Legacy data always kind of bugs me, though... :)

But, thanks. I'm a little out of date on my coding. I've picked up a
couple books & thought I'd work through them to get going again.

Thanks again!

:) Just thought you'd appreciate knowing - I looked at the books I bought,
and one is yours...

Thanks!
