Hi. This may sound stupid. I would like to know how to make a complete back-up of my hard drive. I mean complete. My system is a pentium 600mhz. I run windows pro 2000.
Can my dvd become bootable when I make myback-up?
How would I proceed?

Thanks you.

Gerry

If you want, take a look this link... over there are tools
and how to create bootable CDs, would be a similar process
for the DVDs.

When you say "backup" are really you talking about backup
or image/ghost the HDD?.

You can use a third party software to image/ghost your HDD
and use the tool that they normally are including into
their solutions to make the boot process as well.

I use the DOS program from here http://www.bootitng.com/

Their dos program fits on a single boot floppy

My "just about" 6 gig drive compresses down and fits on one Dvd-r

The Dvd-r is bootable

I mean, I want to insert a dvd and make an entire backup of my hard drive in
case it would collapse. Then I could use my bootable dvd, re-install all of
the programs and files that I had on my old hard drive and/or transfer it to
my new hard drive.
Thanks

Norton Ghost 2003 works fine for me. Bootable DVD and all.
