how to lock a file folder so that nobody could access?

I created a file folder on my desktop from a program....now I need to lock
it for my eyes only.

How do i do that?

XP Home or XP Pro?
Do you want to make private just this folder or do you want to put this
folder under your my documents folder and make the whole my docs folder and
subfolders private.
 
Assuming you're running NTFS (FAT32 lacks these security options), you can set access rights to specific folders. Right-click the folder, click the Security tab, and take off "Everyone" and "Users" if they are present. Make sure your user account is listed, and I would suggest also making sure the Administrators group and System are listed as well; be sure to give full access to all three. This should make it impossible for other users to access your folder. If you'd like, you could make it hidden, to boot.

There are a couple of ways to accomplish this. The best way will depend on
how you like to work with your documents. I use a password protected,
compressed folder and can easily move files in and out of that folder. The
other way is to use permissions to deny access to a shared folder unless the
password is entered. Here are the details:
