Accessing Data on a Slaved hard drive

I'm having a serious lock-up issue with my primary hard drive on my
desktop. Right now, I have it slaved to another XP machine to try and
save data I must have in case I can't fix it. However, all the data I
have for myself is locked away from other users' eyes because I log
in
as the admin on my own desktop.

Is there any work around for the file lock so I can save my stuff?

Look up "Taking Ownership of files and Folders" in Help and Support....

HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=308421

Can't you otherwise recover the data from a current backup? Always have a
full and complete backup.
