Slaving hard drive?

Can one "slave" a hard drive, containing WinXP to another machine using
WinXP?
The one I want to slave will not boot (tests show drive O.K.), I just want
to get
files from it.
Thanks

Yes, you can. Just make sure that both hard drives have their jumper
settings correctly set to master / slave (if EIDE.) Not sure how to
used SATA.

SATA drives don`t use jumper setting for master or slave, they have there
own seperate connection on the mother board.

There is no master/slave relationship for SATA drives, thus no jumpers.
Their controllers are all on the mobo.
