How to keep background image while copying from another ppp files

Hi,
I used to use Powerpoint 2000, and have several hundreds of ppp files made
from it.
Now I got Powerpoint 2003, and I want to copy some slides from ppp files
made from version 2000. But version 2003 always changes background images to
master background image. I won't happen to v.2000.
Does anybody know how to copy slides with background images without
modification of original background images?

Thanks in advance for your help!

When you copy them into another presentation, a small floating menu appears.
Click on it and select 'keep source formatting.' The other option is to go
to INSERT >> SLIDES FROM FILE and check the 'keep source formatting' box in
the lower left corner. This is essentially creating a new slide master with
the attributes from your original presentation (possible because PPT 2002+
has multiple master capabilities).
