How to interrupt the MAPI Spooler

I was trying to send an e-mail with an attachment. It is
taking too long to send and blocking my incoming messages.
I would like to delete this message, but outlook gives me
a message that "Can't open this item. MAPI Spooler has
already begun transmitting." I have also selected the
message and hit delete, but it does nothing.

Does anyone know how to delete it?

Place Outlook in offline mode (File-> Work Offline) and restart Outlook. Try
to delete it now and place Outlook online again.

Could be, are you on an Exchange as well? If I remember well; go to Tools->
Services-> select Microsoft Exchange Server-> Properties-> tab Advanced->
select Enable offline use. Press OK and OK once more to close the open
windows.

When you restart Outlook there should be an option to work offline under
File.
