How do I clear the MAPI Spooler?

Outlook 98 gets jammed up when I send a document directly out of Word. Now I
cannot send or recieve email. I cannot delete the message because it says
that the item cannot be opened, the MAPI Spooler has already begun
transmitting this message. Thanks.
