how to i get back my old e-mails

i needed format my laptop and i reinstall outlook 2003 but i realized that
all of my old e-mails are gone. i formetted before but when i reinstall it at
that time i received all my emails back but now i cant. what should i do?

I suggest you panic...

If you truly formatted your drive (and you didn't really mean you
performed a non-destructive re-install of Windows) then the only way you
could have gotten your messages back would be from either a backup of
your pst file, you kept your pst file on a different drive you didn't
format, or you are on an Exchange server.

If none of those three scenarios apply to you then refer back to the
opening statement(i.e. panic).

and i deleted all the e-mails from my exchange server i just wanted to keep
them in my outlook 2003 the back up did not work ori did not do it well so
what should i do next? Tim you know what if i lose those emails i lose my job

Why did you delete them from the Exchange Server which was presumably backed
up when your workstation isn't backed up?

You could ask your IT department to restore your mailbox to a point from
before you deleted the messages.

And I also suggest that in future you leave the formatting of machines to
the IT dept.....
