I have a user with a laptop and the local profile is corrupt. It's
still there but Windows XP Pro says it cannot load it. How can I fix
this problem? It has made a TEMP login folder in Documents and
Settings but it doesn't save the settings there, either.

Any help is appreciated. This is getting my user very frustrated.

i think windows stores your hardware profile in wpa.dbl in the system32
directory, if thats anyhelp

I don't think so. "wpa.dbl" is the file on which "Windows Product Activation" is stored. As is written is some web, it's the keeper of the keys.

As for the reason I put "I think" is because I'm not an avid windows user, I
just remember that your hardware profile has something to do with that.

Ah!, yes. I apologize for reading so fast. Hardware profile is related in some way to the file you quoted.
