How to find un-installed/used programs on system

i had to completely re-install WindowsXP over an existing WindowsXP an
re-install all of my applications. There are many programs loaded o
my hard drive that are not installed in the current WindowsXP. Ho
can I find and remove all of the programs and their components that ar
not currnetly installed

Search the registry for the 'folder path' to each set of files. The ones
that are Not in the registry are the ones that are not in use.
