how to find and close running programs

I have successfully installed norton ghost and go back, altough, whilst I`m
trying to install internet security I`m being told to close all running
programs before installation can continue...HELP!

That would be the TASK MANAGER, activated by Ctrl-Alt-Del

BEWARE - you need to know what you are doing, or you could close
down parts of Windows itself
