How to edit file summary info easily

In Windows XP, for an individual file, you can right-click an individual
file, and then click Properties, then Summary, then enter the comments and
keywords. But this is very cumbersome. Is there an easier way? I'd like to
be able to enter the same keywords for multiple files at the same time
(Explorer won't let you), and/or just click the file and type the information
in a side-pane.

Thanks for your consideration!

It would involve working with things called "alternate data streams",
associated with the file

Sysinternals has a command line tool to view streams, but other than that
would suggest googling for "alternate data streams" and see what you can
learn (might be some freeware around)

Thanks for the reply, but the program only reads the comments, etc. It
doesn't write them. Is there a simular program that writes to the
comments/keywords fields?

Thanks
