Windows XP Summary Information

Consists of: Title, Subject, Author, Category, Keywords,
Comments, Source, Revision Number

Where is this data stored? I've noticed that when I move or
copy a file elsewhere the summary information goes with it. When
I archive a file the summary information is lost.

What use is Summary Information?

When I want to search through my files is it possible to search
the Summary Information? The normal Explorer search window (F3)
doesn't seem to use this information at all.

How do I add Summary Information to files programmatically.
Suppose I had a list of filenames with summary information
(Title, Author, Keywords) in a database. How do I go about
adding this information to the actual file? Does WSH allow that?

When major search engines such as Google search for information
in files other than HTML what does the search engine look for?
Does Google, for instance, examine Windows Summary Information.
or Adobe PDF Document Properties?

Metadata, and it's stored within the file itself. The current search engine
does not use this information, but that may be changing in Vista.
