How to display Japanese characters in Hotmail?

I installed the asian language pack and added Japanese to the ime, but when I
try to read an email mssage in Japanese it just looks like all sorts of funny
characters from diffferent languages. How do I get windows to recognize the
Japanese or is it not possible with hotmail?

You'll need to adjust the character set manually via the IE View menu
in order to display Japanese correctly as many email programs cannot
successfully use message headers to set the character set for transmitting
and receiving messages.
