Hi,

We have a PC with only a touch screen. To login the user has to enter his
password. For that he need the screen keyboard.

1) How can I automatically display the screen keyboard togehter with the
login window?
2) Is there a possibility to add my own screen keyboard to the utility
manager (WIN+U)?

Regards,
Günter

Günter,

To 1)
You can set that up with this screen keyboard:
http://www.virtual-keyboard.com/
I don't know if this is possible with the one from MS.

To 2)
Try here to set it up here (I never tried myself):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Accessibility\Utility Manager

Best regards

IIRC, the actual value was under [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Accessibility\Utility Manager\On-Screen
Keyboard]. "Start with Windows" value name or something like that.
However, IIRC, it didn't help to bring up the soft keyboard during Welcome screen.

Anyway, there is always a workaround.
You can create a simple service that will auto-start before or during logon. The service should just launch Utilman.exe.

Another way of launching the Utilman.exe could be a custom Gina.
