How to delete OS from dual boot

To cut the story short, I now have a dual boot (identical OS in 1 partition)
in my Compaq labtop (xp home). Rather then to do a clean installation of
system recovery, now, how can I delete the 'accidental' OS and only have the
original installation in it. Thanks for your time

At the moment the boot.ini is as follows:-
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS.0
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS.0="Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

so just to counter check, I should have this as the new boot.ini . That is
to say I want to boot up as when I first got the labtop

[boot loader]
timeout=0
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

....... please confirm the above is correct, thanks
