I'm a Web developer and I have a couple of clients asking for HTML
e-mail templates that match their Web sites. I think the clients are
using either Outlook or Outlook Express.
I don't use Outlook, Outlook Express, or Exchange Server. If I have to
create these templates, what exactly will I need to purchase, install,
and configure -- and how would I go about creating the template? I can
write HTML/CSS by hand or use Dreamweaver.
Is there a set of guidelines for what HTML/CSS features do and don't
work in Outlook? I don't want to spend a lot of trial and error with
this.
If I have to install Exchange Server I guess I will do that... I have a
developer version of Windows Server 2003 that should work (I'm not sure
if it came with Exchange though).
I'm basically looking for the minimum necessary to get these templates
built and delivered. The actual design work is maybe 30 minutes but I
feel like there will be 40 hours getting the development environment set
up and figured out.
Thanks,
