How to check a driver is digitally signed programmatically?

Hello,
I am looking to understand how does the driverquery.exe obtain info on
a driver?
In specifically I want to know how it understands if the driver is
digitally signed or not, is it API calls or ?

How to do this with code...?
Any help would be appreciated.

device manager via code?
