Authenticode Digitally signed driver

I need to digitally sign a print driver so that customers do not get the
install warning. I do not want to have to pay the cost to get MS logo cert.
I found a Windows Platform Design Note that describes how to sign the driver
using an Authenticode signature. As usual, the information is not totally
clear but it seems that I can acquire an Authenticode signature from a third
party and using MS tools sign a driver package. Does anyone know if the code
can be used with multiple packages? And, since the code is issued on a
yearly subscription, will the driver no longer install correctly after the
yearly expiration date?

thanks
