Code Signing and Time Stamping

If I sign an Access 2003 mdb with a code signing certificate that I
buy from a CA, what happens when that certificate expires? This is
where time stamping comes in, correct?

I've been reading about this on a few of the CA sites, and I don't
completely understand the whole process. All the sites seem to be
talking about Authenticode. So do I need a special program to sign and
time stamp my database?

For use on my own computer, I've just been using a self-signed cert
and signing from within the Visual Basic Editor. Can I do that with
the cert from the CA too?

Does anyone have recommendations for a particular CA?

Also keep in mind that in A2007 signing is still supported but much
less important since we now have Trusted Locations.
In our company we bought them from Thawte. Less expensive than
Verisign but just as good. Their prices have gone up considerably over
the last few years though. $250 for a year of SSL certificate -
ridiculous.

This will be used outside my company and it will be years before my
clients will be moving to A2007. I want to get a CA cert, but I want
to understand more about it. Will I need a program other than the VBA
editor to sign the database?
