Not an IE issue, but try this:
Hold the Shift key and right-click a PPT file, choose Open-With and select PowerPoint from the list. Make sure that the option "Always open......" is checked. Press OK.
If not, see if the following key is set correctly in the registry:
Taken from a WinXP system with Office 2000 installed:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PowerPoint.Show.8\shell\Open\command
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\POWERPNT.EXE" "%1"
If not, repair the Office installation using the Detect and Repair function.

Boss, cannot get PowerPoint to run in PowerPoint.
His default is Internet Explorer.
Please tell me how to set it back to PowerPoint..
