I booted with installation cd, selected to repair existing
windows installation, and my computer restarted with the
windows xp setup. Every time it restarts, it boots to
setup. How do I cancel setup and boot to my OS?

I have already tried to change the boot.ini file by making
my C drive a secondary. But I still have the same problem--
it always boots to setup. It says: "restarting windows
setup"...and then goes to the screen where it says "39
minutes remaining" and prompts me to insert the xp cd....

Hello,
You have to resolve the setup problem that is happening now.
You have a mixture of files from the currently running setup and from the
proevious installation.
You may want to disconnect any external devices other than a keyboard,
mouse and monitor.
See if that helps.
Check the setup log files to see if there is a clue as to what is happening
on the system at the present time.
When the system appears to stop.
Hit the Shift and F10 keys.
This should open a cmd prompt
Goto the Windows folder.
Read the setupapi.log, what are in the last 10-20 lines.
Close the log and let the machine sit for 30 minutes, check to see of the
log file has changed. This could tell us setup is continuing, but it's
running slow during a section here.
Thanks,
