My network contains a active directory. I would like to
shutdown the system and once the system is on I would like
for the system to came up and login into the workstation
automatically. In this way I can run some services in it.
In order to run the service I must be login. Is there a
way to start a service at startup as a service? Please
advise. Thanks!

You can setup Autologon using Registry values in this key:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\

Or, you can download a freeware app like Autologon that will configure the
Registry for you:
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/misc.shtml#AutoLogon

Control Panel\Users and Passwords\Advanced Tab\ Uncheck "Require users
to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete before logging on"
