How to slow down Windows login?

New Business:

I just started having problems with startup where several of my system tray
icons did not appear. I checked some of the tasks and those were running
correctly and under the correct username but just no visible icon or means
of accessing those tasks.

When I removed auto login and performed Windows Login manually then
everything was perfect, so it seemed there was some harmful timing or race
condition with autologin, and it was the same with autologin by Tweak UI or
by "control userpasswords2".

Can anyone suggest any way to pause or slow down the autologin - or any
other ideas about this problem?

Thanks.

Old Business:

I previously reported an issue about missing names and commands displayed
in msconfig's System Configuration Utility's startup screen. I found that
by enabling ALL the startup items in the list the condition cleared itself
and I was then able to again disable certain items without the issue
reappearing. I mention this in case my experience is useful to others.
