I have two harddisk installed in my PCs, both the harddisk I had installed
the XP prof on it. Harddisk A is a 80MB disk and harddisk B is a 500MB disk.
Both are SATA disk
The 1st set of the info (point A) , is the harddisk (80MB) that given me the
problem. I boot it up (use it as a primary master disk with the 2nd harddisk
(500MB) as secondary disk) and at the welcome screen and I login into my
account (user name mak), but it only load the desktop background image but
none of the desktop icons, start bar or system tray.
I have to use the Ctrl-Alt-Del to get into the task manager. From the task
manager I select File/run and follow the instruction that get the info.
This harddisk (80MB) window define as F:\ but you can see that in the
registry files some show C:\ and some show F:\. there I not able login into
the system.
The 2nd set of the info (point B), is the harddisk that working fine. This
round I boot up from the 500MB disk as a primary master disk (window define
as C:\) and the 80MB disk as a secondary disk. In this case I am able to
access the system without any problem. I follow your instruction goto
star/run and get the 2nd set of the info.

I'm confused. Please explain how exactly you generated the two lots of
information you posted, i.e. which disk(s) were connected and which one was
the primary master.

As you can see that the original disk config consist of C:\ and F:\. It
suppose to be all in F:\.
Tks.
