I want to start refilling my Canon 3e cartridges. MIS ink was recommended
to me. They have the ink in 2oz bottles, 4oz bottles, and larger. I was
unable to figure out the ink content of a Canon 3e cartridge. Basically, if
I buy the 4oz bottles, how many times can I refill the cartridge? Thank you
very much.
If you're referring to the large BCI-3e text black cartridge, I don't
bother with little 2oz/4oz bottles, preferring instead the 8oz ones.
It's also considerably cheaper as they give you more ink for your money.
The best black text ink (BCI-3e) that I recommend is from
atlanticinkjet.com (separate US/Canadian divisions). It is true pigment
black, prints every bit as good as original Canon ink. A large 8oz
bottle costs $15 and will fill anywhere from 16 to 25 cartridges. Who
knows exactly how many. The cost is so low I don't keep track of these
trivial things.
Be careful as some generic BCI-3e ink sold is dye ink and not pigment.
It must be pigment (like original Canon) or your text will be fuzzy
instead of laser sharp, and it will also be not near waterproof like the
real pigment ink. Dye ink will run terribly if paper is splashed with
water. Now you know how to test the black ink you're getting.
