BETTER: it's FREE.

Better
- PM is no longer being updated by Symantec.
- PM only handles partitions up to 300Gb (and that includes the logical
partition is you need more than 4 on one disk).
- PM does not work in Vista

I have had PM for sometime but scrapped it for this.

You're getting a lot of interesting information here.
Sounds like people are giving you advice based on their
GUESS about what you're trying to accomplish.

Would be less traumatic for your computer if you
actually disclosed
exactly what are you trying to accomplish.

I know that Seagate has a copy of Acronis called the Discwizard which
can backup a partition but cannot clone. But you can always restore
that partition to another drive.
If you don't have at least one seagate or one other vendor (forget who)
you can't do diddly.

None of those is significant to me, but YMMV.
Vista?? What's Vista? :-)

But EASEUS Partition manager was missing a few other features built into PM,
which may or may not be important to you. Still for free, admitedly it
looks pretty good, from what I had read over at their website (which was
awhile ago)..

Downloaded and played with it for several hours yesterday.

It is everything anyone might normally need in a partition manager.
It's not as pretty as Acronis Disk Director, but it's free.

As far as files, moving is a 2 part process. Copying a file to another
location, then, deleting the original file. I assume moving a partition is
the same 2 part process.

(your post specified "how do you") I use 2 different methods for moving
(copying, then deleting the original partition). One is an asset in System
Commander for just that purpose. The other, I use an imaging program
supplemented by the previous for deletion of the original partition.
However, I find it few and far in-between to move a partition in the
strictest sense.

Similarities between Enron originated money crisis
and todays current economical crisis.
Same banks too big to fail that invested in Enron then and bad mortgages of
today.
The mindset of Enron keeping its false books, and the mindset of todays' bad
mortgage balance sheets before all was exposed.
Lack of conscience then and now.

All discwizard did was trash the source, and make an unbootable target for
me. Didn't matter discwizard installed in XP, or from the boot CD.
