How do you install Outlook 2000 patches with Office 97 installed?

I have a desktop box with Office 97 and Outlook 2000 installed. I have an
intermitant Outlook crash that my Windows XP report to Microsoft indicated
has a fix if I down load the patch. The patch however is part of Office
2000. How do I resolve the Outlook 2000 problem without messing up Office 97
with an Office 2000 patch?

http://office.microsoft.com/ (Check for Updates) should automatically
find and apply the right patches for the different program versions.
