How do you display custom forms in outlook?

I'm having a similar problem to one that was posted in August. I've created
some custom forms, saved them to my personal forms library, but when I try to
access them I get the error message that the form I'm trying to access cannot
be displayed. I tried going through the steps you outlined (clearing the
cache), to no avail. What is the next step? (Background: I was able to
access them up until a couple weeks ago when my email account had to be
recreated. I haven't been able to display any custom forms, just the
standard ones. I can create new forms - but once created and published I
can't bring them up again.)

Also, how can I get the custom forms to print? When I try to print a custom
form the only things that get printed are the To/From and any message body -
the rest of the form is not. Thanks!!

Problem #1: Try running Help | Detect and Repair to clear up any obvious problems with your Outlook installation.

Tell us the version and build number of Outlook.

Problem #2: See http://www.outlookcode.com/d/customprint.htm for various solutions to the limitation that Outlook forms don't support WYSIWYG printing. The Word template technique is the most flexible and highly recommended.

We're running Outlook 2003. I don't know what the "build number" is - where
do I find that?

I ran the detect and repair, restarted the computer, and still have the same
problem. I tried to access a custom form saved in my personal forms library,
and got the "cannot display" error message. What is your next suggestion?

What kind of form is it -- message, contact, task, etc.? What's the exact text of the error message? When you cleared the cache, did you delete not only Frmcache.dat but also all of the subfolders in the Forms folder?

It's built on a message form. The exact text of the error message is "The
form you selected could not be displayed." I just emptied the cache -
clicked "clear cache" - I didn't delete any subfolders. I can see the forms
that are in the directory, but none of them will open. I don't see any
subfolders in the forms folder, unless they'd be found somewhere in Program
Files.

If you have cached forms, you'll have subfolders in %userprofile%/local settings/application data/microsoft/forms. Maybe take another look.

I went there and deleted the Frmcache.dat file. There were no subfolders. I
went back to Outlook, tried to access the form and got the same "Form cannot
be displayed" error message.

Is there a specific setting that does NOT work with forms or turns forms
access off?

Check to see what size the forms cache is -- Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options | Custom Forms

Also, search the registry to see if you have the ForceFormReload registry value set. If so what's the value?
