how do you clear autocomplete from address bar

I have tried to clear the memory of the autocomplete
address bar. I cleared the history and the cookies and
files from the internet tools menu and it erased the
stored websites I had visited on the drop-down menu,
but... when I type a letter, all these websites that
start with that letter came back up as options. How do I
delete the memory so I can clear everything?

You need to delete your History folder- a new one will be created on
restart.

Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder in Windows 9x,2K, XP.

Additional advice:
You might (or might not) want to turn off Autocomplete (inline) from Tools>
Options> Advanced and/or Options. Content> Autocomplete.
