hI, i AM TRYING TO UNINSTALL A PRELOADED COPY OF AOL AND IT ISNT IN THE LIST
OF PROGRAMS WHEN i GO INTO UNINSTALL PROGRAMMES.
i AM A BIT THICK WHEN IT COMES TO COMPS SO ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.
IT WAS ALREADY INSTALLED ON COMP WHEN I BOUGHT IT FROM NEW.

First you can help us all out by pushing the key on the side of your keyboard
that says "caps lock" so you're not typing in all caps.
Next see if there is another place where an AOL uninstall utility exists.
For instance, look in the start menu where the AOL folder is located and see
if there is an uninstall there. Or possibly navigate to the root AOL folder
(usually in c:/Program Files/AOL X.X) and see if there is a file there that
is associated with uninstalling.

It looks like you had your caps lock on; the small letters are big and vica
vera - please refrain!

First can I congratulate you on getting rid of AOL! However, you haven't
really given any details here - I assume you are using a version of XP
because of the newsgroup.

My only suggestion would be to find it in the start menu and hope for an
uninstall shortcut, or find the root of the program: c:\program files\AOL
for example and again check for an uninstall program.

Deleting the directory will not work by the way - I am quite sure it should
be in add/remove programs anyway!

Hope this helps
