How do I un-install IE 6. on my Windows XP Pro Desktop

i once had ie 6.0 alone and then decided to go to IE 7.0. I noticed some
funky behavior with this 7.0 and decided i would try FireFox which did not
display the same funkiness (jittery display when entering address/URL), so i
decided to uninstall ie 7 --- that went ok but i noticed there were still
icons all over the place for IE!!. and they seemed to work...for some reason
Ie 6 is still installed. i can't find it listed in my add/remove programs yet
i'm using this newsgroup via ie 6.????

what's up with that? how do i uninstall ie 6 if it's nowhere to be found?

if you've experienced this, i'd be grateful for an explanation/closure...

XP will not allow you to uninstall IE6
and leave it uninstalled.

:-(

Give the guy who thought that one up a box of cigars.

Thanks for the inside scoop on this, anyway.

Version 7 is a Beta version. What did you expect of it.
Firefox is okay, but you are going to find you cannot access all sites with it. Not all financial
site will accept it.
Also, without IE, you cannot get any Microsoft updates.

Something beta :)

Apparently, I'm going to have IE 6 around for a while whether or not I want
it to be.

Thx.
