How do I stop receiving duplicate email messages?

How do I stop receiving duplicate email messages? I have set up email
addresses to come into Outlook ie., personal email address via internet
provider and hotmail.

Please advise

Do you have two or more accounts checking the same mailbox?

i have only one outlook installed. i have that outlook getting mail for my
interent provider and then from hotmail. my internet provider is the one
that gives me duplicate messages everytime email is pulled.

my outlook program has several email accounts set up.
1.) my interent provider email
2.) my hotmail email account.

the internet provider account is the one that i get duplicate messages on.
so only 2 messages result in 4 actual emails.

Okay lets try this a different way...

1) If your internet service provider provides you with two or e-mail
address, do you check each account with the same user id and password?
(This will cause duplication as both e-mail addresses are feed into the same
mailbox.)

2) Do you have any antivirus, antispam, .etc software installed that can
scan e-mail as it is downloaded. This may cause duplication if the program
is trying to get rid of the bad stuff.
