how do I stop numbering pages after a section break?

How can I stop pages numbering after a section break, for if I go into the
header and footer option and hand delete them I lose all the numbering. I
want the pages to number before the section break but not after. Can this be
done I hope some one can help thank you.
 
With the insertion point in the second section, View | Header and Footer.
Unlink the sections (by clicking on the Same as Previous or Link to Previous
button on the Header and Footer toolbar, to turn it off). Then delete the
page number in the second section.
