How do I return software bought at walmart?

I bought student office 2006 from walmart, but I need microsoft office 2003,
how can I get my money back or an exchange?

Not sure what you are asking. First there is no Office 2006, at least not
for sale. Second, Walmart is not authorized to sell student editions. Last
this is not a forum for Office or licensing questions, it is a Microsoft
Access database newsgroup.

I suggest that you contact Walmart to solve your issue.

There is a Microsoft Student 2006 which contains student related tools for
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Encarta. I picked up a
couple of copies with this years bucks and my daughter loves it. There is
also a student version of Office 2003.

Quite a number of stores will exchange a bad copy of a program for another
copy of the identical program, but will not refund your money nor allow
exchange for a different program -- for fear that you may have just obtained
it so you can copy it. If that is Wal-Mart's policy, and you can't convince
the store manager that your honesty in the matter warrants an exception, you
may just have to live with it. But, as Tom said, it is a matter to address
with the seller, not in this newsgroup.

bookstores. That's the only way Microsoft could keep track of the licensing.
I think the product you are talking about is:

which is a series of templates that retail for US$70. That's much less than
a student edition of Office (US$149), and far less than standard editions.

Actually, I've seen MS student versions sold at discount stores, both
brickfront and on-line (Fry's and DirectDeals.com, for example).I
don't qualify for one, so I've never looked into how the liscensing is
handled.
