HOW DO I RESTORE MISSING ICONS

users are missing my computer, my documents etc icons on
their desktop and in the start menu. The icons are

This is an alternative to Kelly's approach.

Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Themes > Display >
Desktop > Customize Desktop..> General tab > Restore Default
Now OK out but don't forget Apply.

The desktop icons, in the topmost enclosure, if ticked, change together with
the same in the Start menu.
