How Do I Remove Windows ME files after XP upgrade

I recently upgrading from Win ME to XP but I still have all the old ME files
on the drive. Is there a safe way to remove these or an I lumbered with them?

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Add/remove programs..Plus,open disk clean up,select all,then click on the
tab "more options" delete as much as youre able to.

No sign of Windows ME in Add/Remove Programs (which I would have uninstalled
anyway) and disk clean up only removes 22mb of junk, not ME. Any other ideas?
