How do I remove the Inbox, Calendar, Contacts.... from a new .PST

Hi there,

I'm using Outlook 2003 at work and I have created a number of Outlook data
files (.pst) to put away a number of emails.

However, all new .pst files contains their own Inbox, Calendar, Contacts,
Journal.... which takes up space in the Folder List viewing panel.

My question is how to get rid of those, because I am quite happy using the
ones within my main mailbox?
I have tried to even create new .pst files, format 97-2002, but Inbox,
Calendar, ... came back by themselves!!

Thanks for your help.

Secondary pst-files don't come with Inbox, Calendar, Contacts, etc...
folders. At least; Outlook is not creating them for you. So either you are
looking at the wrong folder set ot they are being created by an addin that
you have installed. Do show if you change your navigation to Folder List
Navigation? What happens if you try to delete the folders you don't want?

that is what i'm affraid of, addins! The problem I have is that the company
IT department is responsible for the Installation of any software we use, and
I tried to explain my problem earlier but did not understand. Unless I
specify them what to do exactly i'm still going to be floaded with unwanted
stuff.

If I try to delete the Inbox for example, by right-clicking on the folder,
the delete option is not available to me.

What to do?

Describe the EXACT process you're using to create the PST. New PSTs you
create will NOT have the default folders (except for Deleted Items) unless
you specifically make them the delivery location.

Can you post your exact steps to reproduce?
